You have set your experiment, but after checking it on the website, you don’t see it. In cases like this, it is advisable to check the following:

    1. Tracking code installed

Make sure that you have the tracking code installed on the pages where you want to run the experiment.

In order to check that, follow these steps:

    • Go on that page(s) in the browser and right-click, then chose the Inspect option
    • You can also press the 3 dots next to your browser profile, go to More tools and select Developer tools.
    • Press these combination of keys on your keyboard: Ctrl+Shift+I

Please bear in mind that the steps above are for Google Chrome, but for other browsers the steps will be similar.

    • Once you accessed the Developer Tools, choose Console
    • Write ‘_mktz‘ and hit Enter.
    • If this message appears into your Console, it means that your tracking code should be installed properly.
    • If this message appears into your Console, it means that the tracking code is missing.

    2. Tracking code enabled

Make sure also that your tracking code isn’t disabled. You can do this pressing on your website to open the dropdown and select Tracking code settings.

Once on the Website Tracking Code page, make sure you see the text ‘The code is installed‘.

    3. Billing plan

Make sure that your plan hasn’t expired or hasn’t exceeded the limit of tested views/page views included. You can do this by pressing on your account to open the dropdown and select Billing.

And from the Billing screen you can see your current usage and plan status.

    4. Audience

Check if you chose the right condition and if what you wrote in the field corresponds with the link from the browser where the experiment should run.

Click here to find out how to set up your audience properly.

    5. Excluded URL pages

Make sure that you didn’t exclude all your visitors or some pages where you want your experiment to apply.

    6. Segmentation

Make sure that you set up correctly the segmentation.

If you are using a Custom Segment, make sure that the conditions are right.

Click here to find out more about segmentation or click here to find out more about OR and AND conditions between segmentation.

    7. Devices

Make sure that you check the experiment on the right devices.

    8. Exclusivity

Remember that by default, no other experiment (same type) will be triggered for the same visitor who was already included in an experiment if it takes place on the same URL page and belong to the same segment, as long the first experiment is running.

This means that you cannot have 2 experiment of the same type on the same URL and for the same segment.

But if you want to run multiple experiment for the same URL page and segment, you can contact our support team at [email protected] and they can enable the Allow other experiments to run option for your account.

    9. Traffic allocation and Goals

Make sure that the Variation has some traffic allocated.

If you are only landing on one of the variations, remember that you need to delete your cookies between each session. For incognito tabs, you need to completely close them before trying again.

    10. Scheduling

Make sure that your experiment is active on that day.

    11. Excluded time interval

Make sure that you are not checking the experiment in the excluded time interval.

    12. Wait

If you haven’t waited 4 – 5 minutes since you published the experiment, it means you checked it too early on the website.

Please keep in mind that it takes a while until the data is sent to the servers, gets updated, and is back live.

If all the above are correctly set please contact us on our ticketing system and give us as many details as you can in order to give you the right solution.
